God. Remember a long time ago
When we talked
And I cried
And cried
And I was unhappy
Because I didn't like me.
I mean really unhappy
All the time.
Because I hated me.

And remember
You said you loved me.
But I didn't believe it.

And I talked to lots of people.
And they said they loved me
And they said You loved me.
And I wanted to believe it.
But I didn't like me.
Remember?

And then we decided to work on it.
To work together. You and me.
To work on me.
And help me become somebody
I could like and
Somebody who knew
For Sure
That You loved me.

And know what, Lord?
Well, I think we did it.
Together.
You and me.
'Cause you know what?
I do like me. And I know
You love me.
Just like I am.
Me.

Oh, yes, I know, I'm kind of funny.
And a little different.
And some people
Don't know
quite
How to take me.
But they laugh.
And they listen.
And they grow.
And I like that.
And I like me.
And I like You.
And I love You.

And I'm happy. Down Deep inside.
And I remember when
I wasn't ever
Happy
And You still loved me.
And it's only because You loved
me then
That I love me now.

And so
I want to say
Thank You!
Thank You - for loving me
Then
When I didn't love me.
And thank You - for those people
Who loved me - then
And told me
About You
And about Your love.
They believed in You
And they helped me.

And now I like me!
Oh, thank you for that feeling!
It's a fun feeling.

And Lord.
Sometime
When I don't feel that feeling.
And I'm sad.
And I don't like me.
Remind me that you still love me.
And help me get over it.

Oh, and Lord. You know, there are lots of
Other people
Who don't know yet
That You love them.
Just like they are.
Help me to love them,
And to tell them.
And to believe in them.
